Starting and Stopping Utility Services

Under the Montpelier Municipal Utilities Residential Utility Procedures every person residing at and/or owning a Montpelier residence is required to have a completed application on file. Applications are available at the Utility Office or online and include:

  • Copy of valid Photo ID for all residents over 18
  • Copy of the homeowner deed, closing papers or rental agreement
  • Meter read-in fee of $20.00
  • Utility deposit – required for all rental and land contract locations and as specified by the Director of Finance
  • Signature of landlord is required for all rental and land contract service applications
