The Montpelier Police Department is a full time, 24 hour a day, 365 days a year operation. MPD patrols approximately 6+ sq. miles, which include both Montpelier and the Village of Holiday City. We have a diverse call volume and require our officers to be well trained to handle such diversity. While we are smaller in population, we are not your typical "small town", handling many serious calls for service, and often having opportunity for personal growth and education. However, our agency focuses on community-policing, which allows our officers to engage community members in various public events, to help build strong support from the citizens. We require officers to be officers, and have a high-level of expecation. Montpelier resides in the heart of Williams Co., 10 minutes south of Michigan, 10 minutes east of Indiana, and along the I-80/90 corridor, which brings a unique propensity for public contact.
