Montpelier Municipal Utilities (MMU) is celebrating Public Power Week (#PublicPowerWeek), Oct. 7-13, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans.
Public Power Week celebrates the reliable, affordable electricity MMU provides to our community and puts the people of Montpelier first. Public Power Week gives us the chance to emphasize the advantages of locally grown, locally owned power to our citizens.
Public power utilities differ from investor-owned utilities in that we are beholden to YOU, the customer, above all others. 93,000 people are employed by public power utilities across the United States. MMU is governed by the elected council members of the Village of Montpelier.
Our service is reliable and safe and we take pride in serving our friends and neighbors.
