Sealed proposals will be received by the Village Manager of the Village of Montpelier, Williams County, Ohio, at the office of the Clerk of Council in the Town Hall, Montpelier, Ohio, until two (2) o’clock p.m. Local Standard Time on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. This advertisement for bids is for the furnishing and purchase of the following.
2023 VILLAGE ASPHALT PROGRAM – River St. – 100- 500 Blk.; Snapdragon Dr. – In front of Glenview Apts./Carnation La. Pt.; W. Brown Rd. – Maplehurst Ave. to W. Village Limits; Maplehurst Ave. – W. Wabash St. to W. Brown Rd.; E. Jefferson St. – 100 Blk. & E. Wayne St. – 100 Blk. Parking; Lincoln Ave. – 100- 300 Blk.; W. Washington St. – 100-400 Blk.; W. Jefferson St. – 100-400 Blk.; S. Monroe St. – 100-200 Blk.; S. Jonesville St. – 200 Blk.; S. Empire St. – 200 Blk.; E. Wabash St. – 100-300 Blk. And Linden St. 800-1200 Blk.
Each bid shall contain the full name of every person, partnership or corporation interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of either:
- A bond for the full amount of the bid in substantially the same form as that document which is part of this packet and designated as SURETY BID BOND AND PERFORMANCE BONDED: OR
- A certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit issued pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code attached to a bid document in substantially the same form as the document included in this packet and designated as “TEN PERCENT” (10%) BID GUARANTY.” The amount of the certified check, Cashiers check, or letter of credit is revocable only at the option of the Village.
All bid guaranties shall be payable to the Village of Montpelier for the benefit of the Village of Montpelier and shall be deposited with and held by the Village Manager. All bonds shall be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio as a surety and shall be approved by the Village Manager. All certified checks, Cashiers checks, or letters of credit shall be made payable to the Village of Montpelier.
Bid guaranties shall be returned to all unsuccessful bidders immediately after the contract is executed. A 10% bid guaranty shall be returned to the successful bidder upon filing of the performance bond required by the TEN PERCENT (10%) BID GUARANTY.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for receiving bids.
This is a Prevailing Wage Project and the successful bidder shall pay the minimum prevailing wage rates as determined by the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of Ohio.
The Council of the Village of Montpelier, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bidding.
Plans and Specifications may be examined at the Montpelier Village Hall, Montpelier, Ohio.
