| K9 Unit|
In 2017, the Montpelier Police Department, with the help of the public, raised funds to re-establish the MPD K9 Unit. This is a milestone as the last K9 (Logan) to serve Montpelier retired in 1997. MPD received its training from Vohne Liche Kennels located in Denver, Indiana, certifying in the National Odor Recognition Test (NORT), and meeting/exceeding instruction for various other K9 training standards. MPD completed it's initial OPOTA cerrtification for K9 in January 2018.
MPD has continued our successful K9 program and training, now with Magnum K9 (Quincy, MI).
